Comparison of an Amorphous transformer and a silicon steel sheet transformer
No-load loss (hysteresis loss + eddy current loss) is reduced to 1/3 to 1/5.
→ Suitable for facilities with a small annual load factor (not operating at night) like PV systems.
Small loss for harmonics
→ Suitable for the transformer connected with inverters like PV systems.
* No-load loss is an energy loss that always occurs even if power is not consumed, and load-loss (winding resistance loss + eddy current loss + stray load loss that occurs in structures such as outer boxes, etc.) is the loss that occurs when the power is consumed. Since the inner temperature of a transformer rises due to the losses occurred during operation, there are different types of transformers depending on the cooling method.
When the amorphous alloy core is installed, hysteresis loss (no-load loss) is reduced, and the eddy current is also reduced because the plate thickness is thinner than that of the silicon steel sheet.
